The Paul Langevin school of Alès victim of an act of vandalism
France Bleu, 25 March 2021 (extract)
The staff of the Paul Langevin school in Alès discovered the vandalised building this Thursday morning. Its windows were broken in the night. No intrusion took place into the building, or theft. The school had to be partially closed: only about ten pupils are welcomed today, those whose parents could not provide guarantee for them (“assurer la gaurde”)
About 15 double-glazed windows were broken by stones of at least two kilos thrown at the back of the building. As a first step, entrances will be blocked for a while to order and replace equipment. The main difficulty is to collect all the glass debris that has dispersed everywhere for the safety of children. (…) The town hall has registered its complaints and estimates the damage to be at least 5,000 euros.
